One thing I know about you, Reader, is that you're a good friend to someone. Probably several someones. ❤️ And right now, one of your someones might be dealing with downsizing, restructuring, or a layoff. 📉 Or, they're starting to look for new opportunities as their company shifts focus, applies more AI tools or tightens its metaphorical belt. Job changes can happen fast (which is why it's good to remember how to stay visible and valuable no matter what's going on in the world. 🌎) And when it happens to someone you love, it stinks—sometimes even worse than when it happens to you. So what do you do when someone you love is job-searching? Especially if they're struggling? What I've observed is that most of us are well-intentioned, but few of us are actually helpful. 😭 That's why I put a few dos & don'ts together for you: Read "How to Help a Job-Searching Friend: Dos & Don'ts for the Modern Age." How 'bout you, Reader? What's working for you as you help your friends right now? Or, if you're a job seeker yourself, what do you WISH your friends would know/say/do? Just hit REPLY and tell me. The comments and stories you share are always welcome and completely confidential. Plus, ask a question or share another idea completely—I love hearing from you. In the meantime, thank YOU for being a friend to us here at Red Cape Revolution. It's a gift to tumble into your inbox & offer help & encouragement, because we need YOU in today's world of work. Red capes on, all—it's time to soar. Always, Darcy P.S. If you haven't yet read (or listened to) my book, "Red Cape Rescue: Save Your Career Without Leaving Your Job," layoff season is a good time to invest in this ounce of prevention.
