what to be thankful for at work (and it's not what you think)

Y'know, Reader, of the hundreds of articles I've written on RedCapeRevolution.com, I'm always surprised to see which one consistently ranks as the 2nd most popular ever.

It's called "6 Things to Be Thankful for at Work (And 3 May Surprise You)." You can read it HERE.

I'm grateful people keep finding and reading this post.

But sometimes wish I was sitting next to that person who's googling "things to be thankful for at work."

'Cause I worry about them. 📿

I worry that they may be thinking "Oh, see, even though I'm not happy/fulfilled/feeling successful, I SHOULD just shut up and be thankful for my job" (psst: that's not what the article says--not even close. )

Or maybe they're looking for reasons to NOT dive into the real work--the hard but important work--the work to decide what's next, to take back control of their life at work.

Sooooooooo, my dear Reader--

As the thankful season approaches here where I live in the US, I'm reminded that we can be grateful for what we have AND still want something to change in our life at work.

One doesn't cancel out the other.

So if you're grateful, that's great. Hit REPLY and tell me about it, so we can celebrate together. 🍗

And if you want more/different/better, that's great too. We've got lots of tools to help, including my book, which I hope you read and share with a friend.

As for me, I'm grateful for you, today and every day. Thanks for being here and wearing your red cape, always.

Always, Darcy

P.S. I recently sat down with Gen Z coach Allison Peck on her Alli from Corporate podcast, and had a rousing discussion on what you can do to make your job better before you decide to leave. Catch our eye-opening chat on
YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Podcasts. Listen in, then come back to this email, hit reply, and tell me what you think!

Oh, I won't pop into your email next Thursday, which is US Thanksgiving Day 🦃. If you're celebrating, enjoy your family, and friends, and know I'm thankful for you. 😇 --D

Here's my mental model for giving gifts at work. First of all, everybody appreciates appreciation. If you've had a great experience working with someone this year--or even if it's been a little bumpy but you've welcomed how they've shown up--consider some form of appreciation. I'm not a fan of giving food or drink...
