your 2025 review so far

time flies

In a flash, Reader, the first four months of 2025 are gone, gone, gone.

January, February, March, April—yup, a full third of the year—buh bye. 👋 🗓️

It's the perfect time to reflect and reset. ▶️

You know, most of us tend to do our big-picture thinking and planning at the end of each year. But I'm convinced that we'd be 1000% better off investing in long-term planning more often.

Like every four months or so.

Now, that doesn't mean upending the entire apple cart every four months. All you get from that is . . .applesauce. 🍎

Long-term planning means setting aside intentional time to take a closer look at your career, your team, your projects, and your overall life at work—just to make sure you're still on the right track. 🛤️

NOW is always a great time to reflect, using q's like this:

  • What's working in your life at work? (psst. . .BRAG on yourself. Find those TA-DAs! )
  • What's not working? Get specific.
  • Where are you trying to control things you can't control? (Remember, you only control three things. )
  • Where do you need to take more control in the upcoming months?

But how do we find the time, space, and energy to do this kind of deep work? How do we avoid getting distracted, or avoiding the hard work it takes to get honest with ourselves?

The answer is to take yourself on a career retreat. And there are two ways to do this.

One's to invest in a coach like me who'll serve as your guide for a day that's completely customized to you. (If that's of interest, hit REPLY and let's plan yours.)

Another route, though, is to plan your own retreat.

Sound intimidating?

Not anymore.

Since I can't work with everyone (much as I'd like to), I've mapped out the entire DIY approach here, including a downloadable planner that'll help.

How about you, Reader? Hit REPLY and tell me one of your reflections from the first third of the year. What'd you learn? What are you proud of? Your thoughts are always 100% safe & confidential here--plus, I'm a no-judgment zone so you have permission to brag on YOU!

Happy May, Reader! And keep that red cape on, 'cause we need you in our world of work.

Always, Darcy

P.S. A personal retreat can take on many forms. I come to you, or you come to me (if you happen to enjoy sunshine and palm trees). Or yes, we can "retreat" on Zoom, too--even with your team or group of friends. I never use cookie-cutter formats; you're unique so your session is unique. If having professional support would help you retreat and reset so you're ready for what's ahead, hit REPLY and let's talk. --D
