scripts to ease into a hard convo ⛑️

hard conversations are hard

You've probably been there, Reader.

Someone's actions (or inactions) are causing a problem. And it's been going on for waaaaay too long.

You've tried hinting and hoping and hunting for solutions, but the person never changes.

It's time—probably past time—to start a tough conversation. ⏰

But how do we say hard things to (usually) good people at work? How do we stop patching potholes and start paving new roads instead? ⚠️🚧

Being able to say hard things—clearly, respectfully, and in ways that move conversations forward—isn't just a nice-to-have skill anymore. It's essential.

In a world where so much of our connection happens through a screen or a string of emails, it's easier than ever to misread, misunderstand, or miss each other altogether.

That’s why now, more than ever, we must build not just the skill—but the courage—to give real feedback, surface real issues, and have the conversations that truly matter.

So you need a plan.

And scripts to get started.

That's what I've got for you today.

How 'bout you, Reader? Has someone shared a hard thing with you? What worked--and what didn't? I always appreciate hearing from you, so hit REPLY and tell me your story.

Hard conversations are part of real leadership. If you haven't had one yet, you will. Holding back only robs others of the chance to grow. You wouldn’t want that done to you — so don’t do it to them. Your voice, and you, matter more than you know. Thanks for being here, and keep soaring!

Always, Darcy
